Tour behind the Scenes: Lowell House: a Harvard Dormitory

Where and how do students really live at Harvard?
Friday, Nov. 6, 10:15 a.m. We will see the dining hall, the junior common room, and the senior common room where Diana Stewart, former co-master of Lowell House, will tell you a little about Harvard undergraduate life. Included is a brief visit to the Masters' Residence. Meet at Harvard Neighbors at 10:10 am and we will leave for Lowell House at 10:15 am. Free for members. Fun with Paper Workshop: Embossing Techniques

Use your creativity to make unique, personalized designs after you learn the basic techniques.

Monday, November 16, 2009, 12 noon -1:30 pm, Harvard Neighbors meeting room

$5 (cash) materials fee for members; ($10 for non-members) includes a small project (e.g. two greeting cards or embellished box) using the instructor’s tools and rubber stamp collection. Choose from a variety of cardstocks, envelopes, and small paper boxes after you see the examples. Further workshops in paper techniques will be scheduled in the Spring. Pre-registration is required via email neighbors@harvard.edu by Nov. 13.

Wine Tasting after 5

Friday, Nov. 13, 5:30 – 8 p.m.
Learn about selecting the right wine for your next event. José Lopez, hobby wine enthusiast, will lead you through tasting a variety of wines. $15 for members; $40 for non-members (join before Nov. 13 and the event is $15). Limited space, please register via email neighbors@harvard.edu

American Thanksgiving Dinner
Friday, November 20, 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

We will be preparing dishes that are traditionally served at an American Thanksgiving table.
You are most welcome to come and enjoy the demonstration and tasting that follows.
Recipes will be provided. The recipes will also be available on the Harvard Neighbors Website. The member fee for this event is $5 per person (cash). Reservations via email neighbors@harvard.edu by Nov. 18
